AIME Board of Trustees
AIME is governed by a Board of Trustees, with eight voting members, two appointed by each Member Society for a four-year term. Four Trustees are in the presidential rotation. The AIME Board currently meets via two conference calls (one in May and one in December) and one face-to-face in August. Click the link below to review AIME Trustee and Staff Roles, Relationships, and Responsibilities (most recently approved at the December 17, 2020 Board meeting).
Each Member Society has its own process for nomination and selection of its AIME Trustees. In some, AIME representatives must have been a Past President of the Society. Suggestions should go to the Executive Director of the appropriate Member Society. Contact them via the links to their websites on our homepage.
AIME Committee Work
AIME occasionally has opportunities for volunteers on award and scholarship committees within its Member Societies and on AIME standing or ad hoc committees, including for awards administered by AIME's sister societies like the Hoover Medal (administered by ASME), Alfred E. Noble Prize (administered by ASCE), and Washington Award (administered by the Western Society of Engineers) or at the National Inventors Hall of Fame. To express interest in participating in these or learn more, please email email@example.com. The AIME Board appreciates the work of these volunteers to represent the organization and its Member Societies more broadly within the engineering and scientific community and provide widespread recognition for prominent members.
