Mehrnoosh Afnan is currently working at ArcelorMittal Dofasco as a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Manager.  She started at ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1999 as a Project Metallurgist with the Materials and Metallurgical Technical Investigation (MTI) group and moved on to the Automated Surface Inspection team in 2006.  Prior to that, she was a research associate at the University of Toronto’s Microengineered Materials Research Group for two years focusing on Electroplating and Characterization of Nanocrystalline metals.   Mehrnoosh was the Iron and Steel Society’s Young Leader in 2001.  Throughout her career, Mehrnoosh has conducted various training and workshops on Defectology, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, Performance Control System, and World Class Manufacturing methodologies.  In 1996, Mehrnoosh graduated from Queen’s University, in Kingston Ontario with a Master’s degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and has co-authored several papers on biomaterials.  She won the AIST 2014 Continuous Casting Best Paper award and the recent first place AIST Hunt-Kelly Award.  Mehrnoosh is also a certified Fitness Instructors and enjoys an active lifestyle!
