In recognition of his exemplary service to the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), a Member Society of AIME. As an AIST past president and member of more than 20 years, Glenn has lent his passion, leadership and expertise to numerous committees, including the Executive Committee, Conference Planning Committee, Nominating Committee, and the Distinguished Member and Fellow Nominating Committee. Glenn has been a strong advocate for the next generation of steelmakers through his work on the AIST Foundation Board of Trustees, including its Scholarship Committee, Kent D. Peaslee Junior Faculty Award Committee and the Steel Curriculum Development Grant Committee. He embraces continuous improvement within all levels of AIST, and within Steel Dynamics Inc. An accomplished engineer, Glenn has overseen construction of the company’s steel mill in Sinton, Texas, its largest capital investment to date.

Glenn Pushis was appointed senior vice president, Special Projects in January 2019. In his previous role as senior vice president, Long Products Steel Group at Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) in 2016, Pushis was responsible for the company's four long product steel mills, which together have approximately 3.8 million tons of annual steelmaking capacity, producing specialized engineered bars, structural steel, railroad rail, merchant bars, and other specialty steels, primarily serving the construction, transportation and industrial sectors. In 2014, Pushis served as vice president of Sheet Products, overseeing the Flat Roll Division in Butler, Ind., USA, and The Techs, located in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA. Pushis oversaw mill modifications to increase the Butler mill's production capacity to 3 million tons per year and completed the start-up of a paint line and other finishing operations at Jeffersonville, Ind., USA. Prior to managing SDI's Flat Roll Division and The Techs, Pushis served as vice president and general manager of the Engineered Bar Products Division, where he oversaw the refurbishing and start-up of the special bar quality mill at Pittsboro, Ind., USA. Prior to that, he held engineering and management positions at the Butler flat roll mill, including manager of the cold finishing mill. Pushis joined SDI in 1994, having previously worked in engineering at Nucor Corp. in Crawfordsville, Ind., USA. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue University and received his M.B.A. from Indiana University in 2013.
