Richard H. Hanewald is president of lnmetco.
He earned a B.S. from Michigan State University in metallurgical engineering in 1964 and joined Inco limited's Huntington Alloy Division. From 1964 to 1970 he did basic research in powder metallurgy to develop new nickel-bearing alloys. He received three U.S. and numerous international patents as a result of this work. He was promoted to senior metallurgist at Inco's Burnaugh, Kentucky, facility. Since joining Inmetco in 1979 he has held a variety of positions, including plant metallurgist, plant superintendent, and vice president of operations. In 1989, he was appointed president.
