Awards & Scholarships

Asseu Gilbert Yapo is a graduate student working toward a masters degree in mining engineering at Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He has interned for Barrick Corp. at its Goldstrike underground mine in the resource estimation department. He was able to work in block modeling, ore body modeling and long-range planning. He holds an undergraduate degree in mining engineering from the Ecole Superieure de Mines et Geologie, Ivory Coast, and worked as a mine exploration geologist for Randgold at the Tongon open pit gold mine, Ivory Coast. He is a member of ISEE and the SME student chapter at Montana. (as of spring 2015) Yapo is third from the left in above photo.
