1975
Jacques Hagoort was born in Woerden, the Netherlands, in April 1942. In 1959 he matriculated at the Delft University of Technology for the study of physics. During the last two years of his study he did research on paramagnetic resonance in hydrogen-oxygen flames.
After graduating in 1966 he joined the Koninklijke/Shell Exploratie en Produktie Laboratorium in Rijswijk (ZH), the Netherlands, where he became involved in the research on conventional recovery process. In 1972 he was assigned to Bellaire Research Centre (Shell Development Company) in Houston, where he worked in the section Mathematical Models. Since his return to Rijswijk in July 1973, he has again been involved in recovery processes research, in particular the research on non-conventional recovery techniques.
