Carl Boehlert is assistant professor of Materials Science & Engineering at Alfred University. Dr. Boehlert's principal research interests are orientation imaging microscopy and phase transformations of reactive metals, physical metallurgy of titanium-based intermetallic alloys, grain boundary engineering of nickel-based superalloys and metal matrix composites.
He received an NSF Career Award; Division of Materials Research. He was the TMS Young Leader Intern for the Structural Materials Division (SMD) in 1999. Dr. Boehlert has authored or co-authored 15 publications.
He has a BS in agricultural and biological engineering from Cornell University, an MS in materials science and engineering from the University of Dayton and a PhD also in materials science and engineering from the University of Dayton.
