For the paper “Thermal Analysis of the Bridgman and Liquid-Metal-Cooled Directional Solidification Investment Casting Processes”
Andrew J. Elliott, Ph. D. is an engineer specializing in investment casting technology for General Electric Energy in Greenville, SC. He received his B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1999 and M.S. and Ph.D. from The University of Michigan in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Andrews research interests include development of superalloys for use in large industrial gas turbines and novel directional solidification investment casting techniques used to make parts for these machines with specific focus on high thermal gradient solidification methods. Andrew has authored or co-authored 5 papers in peer-reviewed literature and presented at numerous technical conferences.
