Dr. Matthew Deutsch specializes in mine planning optimization for open-pit and underground operations. Matthew has over 10 years of experience writing mine optimization, geostatistical, and other mining software. Currently, he works at Maptek, where he develops decision support systems and mine design tools for the Vulcan software package. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Colorado School of Mines.
