Alexandra Anderson, PhD, PE, PMP, is a technical expert specializing in nonferrous metals production at RHI Magnesita, a global leader in refractory solutions. Her work focuses on driving improvements in metallurgical processing and refractory utilization for RHI Magnesita’s customers across North America. Alexandra obtained her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Gonzaga University and her MS and PhD in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Her dissertation investigated fluid flow and thermal profiles within secondary lead reverberatory furnaces using CFD techniques. Alexandra is active in The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), where she serves as the chair of the Process Technology and Modeling Committee; she was also the recipient of the 2021 TMS Extraction and Processing Division (EPD) Young Leader Award. Her scholarly activities include thirteen peer-reviewed publications, co-editorships of eight special topics for JOM, as well as several podium presentations both at national conferences and universities.
