In recognition of more than 40 years of exceptional dedication to educating countless students and industry professionals in the practical applicaton of engineering economics and economic analysis.
Stermole has B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from Iowa State University. He is professor emeritus of mineral economics and chemical and petroleum refining at the Colorado School of Mines, where he has taught since 1963. He also serves as chair of the Investment Evaluations Corp. He has taught economic evaluation techniques for more than 40 years and had done economic evaluation consulting for mineral and nonmineral companies. Since 1970, Stermole has taught more than 700 economic evaluation short courses to more than 16,000 people in the minerals industry, nonminerals industries and government agencies. The courses have been presented in the United States and 20 other countries.
