Charles Copeland is a process engineer focused on ironmaking operations and process improvements at AK Steel Corp. – Dearborn Works. As part of the Ironmaking Technology Group, he develops new technology to improve blast furnace processes and ensures safe and efficient furnace operations. Copeland is the author of several blast furnace-related papers, and his works have been published in Iron & Steel Technology. A project completed by Copeland and his colleague Stuart Street was awarded the AIST 2013 Gold Reliability Achievement Award. He is currently chair for the AIST Ironmaking Technology Committee.
