Joyce M. I. Holtzclaw (SPE)

Joyce M.I. Holtzclaw is exploitation manager with Nations Petroleum. She has also been a reservoir engineering adviser for Vintage Petroleum and a team leader and reservoir engineer responsible for diatomite project start-up and development with Berry Petroleum. Prior to Berry Petroleum, she served in a variety of positions for Chevron Production in the San Joaquin Valley Basin for 12 years. Holtzclaw is known for her volunteerism in many charitable and educational organizations. For 8 years, she participated in the Relay of Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. She has also participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring and Habitat for Humanity in Bakersfield, California.
Holtzclaw has served in many officer roles in SPE San Joaquin Valley Section, including activities chairperson, section officer, program chairperson, and chairperson. Holtzclaw was Western Regional Meeting cochairperson during 2004–08 and Western North America regional director during 2001–03. Since 2008, she has been member of the Public Service Award Committee and an associate editor of the Editorial Review Committee for SPE Productions & Operations. Holtzclaw received the SPE Public Service Award in 2008 and the Regional Service Award in 2000. She earned an MBA degree and a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada.
