AIME was honored to host the United Engineering Foundation Board and Founder Society President and Executive Directors at the Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering, and Technology in Kansas City, MO September 9th and 10th, 2013.  The functions included a tour of the rare books room where curator of their lithography exhibit and Associate Professor, Science, Renaissance, Early Modern European at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, William B. Ashworth, Jr., showed off unique selections, including books from Galileo and an original copy of the 1556 De Re Metallica, as well as an English translation signed by mining engineer and 1920 AIME President, Herbert Hoover, and his wife, Lou.
