AISTech 2013, steel’s premier technology event for 2013, took place 6–9 May at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. AIME President, George Luxbacher, and Executive Director, Michele Lawrie-Munro, attended.  AIME outgoing Trustee, Randy Skagen, was recognized for his past 4 years of service, including 2 years as Treasurer.  AIME award recipients included:  Honorary Members, Gerald Heffernan and Indira Samarasekera, Benjamin F. Fairless, Bruce Bramfitt, AIME Presidential Citation, Ian Sadler, Hunt-Kelly Outstanding Paper 1st Place, "How to Evaluate a Process for Clean Steelmaking and Quality Control" by P. Kaushik, H. Yin, H. Pielet, and M. Lowry from Arcelor-Mittal Global R&D, East Chicago, IN.  The exposition was the largest yet with a total area of 237,000 square feet, and featured 506 domestic and international companies. Key steel producers, suppliers, corporate executives and leaders, and academia gathered to exchange technical information, connect with others in their field, and see new process or product technologies.
