EXPOMIN 2018

STRONG INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION AT EXPOMIN 2018

Expomin 2018, Latin America's Premier Mining Exhibition, will again have high international exhibitor participation. Companies from China and all parts of Asia, Europe, North, Central and South America as well as Africa have registered to present their latest technologies, equipment, machinery and services from the field of raw material extraction and processing. International country group exhibits will be organized by the U.S., Germany, Australia, Canada, Great Britain and South Africa. Expomin will be held from April 23 - 27, 2018 in the Espacio Riesco in Santiago, Chile.

With Expomin 2018, the German trade fair organizer Messe Düsseldorf and the Chilean trade fair organizer Fisa S.A. continue their many years of cooperation. "The use of state-of-the-art technologies is also a decisive success factor that positively impacts safety at work, productivity, sustainable cost management and resource protection in mining. Expomin 2018 is the platform where Latin American mining experts learn about the new developments on the world market and negotiate with suppliers right on site," stated Erhard Wienkamp, Executive Director at Messe Düsseldorf.

A special feature at Expomin will again be the USA Pavilion, organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America. Within the US Pavilion, located in the center of the show in hall 2, US companies can exhibit with their own booth design or opt for the USA Pavilion package (fully furnished booth). The USA Pavilion exhibitors will have access to a lounge with catering, Internet access and translation services as well as extra meeting rooms.

The trade fair is aimed at key players in the mining industry, representatives from mining companies, miners, mining engineers, buyers, scientists, metallurgists, international investors and ministries. An international conference addressing the core topics of sustainability and productivity for modern mining as well as workshops and seminars will complement the exhibits.

For Expomin 2018 the economic outlook is good: Chile is one of the most important supplier nations of precious metals and the world's largest producer of copper. International raw material prices have increased again, resulting in a positive impact on demand for mining equipment. The challenges in Chilean mining such as scarce water resources, comparatively high wage and energy costs as well as diminishing ore content in the existing reserves require cutting-edge technology such as water-saving ore treatment and process optimization. The generation and assessment of production and process data as part of the digitalization process in mining presents the sector with new challenges concerning Mining 4.0. This, in particular, offers international suppliers of mining technology the opportunity to establish themselves on the Latin American market.
