28th International Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2016)
The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is honoured to host the 28thInternational Mineral Processing Congress (IMPC 2016) in Québec City, September 11-15, 2016. IMPC 2016 will include the 55th Annual Conference of Metallurgists (COM 2016).
Under the theme of “Mineral Processing for All”, the Congress will offer a mix of plenary sessions, a multi-track technical program and a trade show. We expect some 1,000 delegates from both industry and academia. For IMPC 2016, the plenary topics will focus on “Emerging Leaders”, “The Arctic”, and “Agromining”. The Technical Streams are:
Characterization: Mineralogy, Geometallurgy
Process Control: Instrumentation, Modelling, Simulation
Flotation: From Chemistry to Machines
Extractive Metallurgy: Hydro and Pyrometallurgy
Comminution: AG/SAG, Crushers, HPGR, Tumbling and Stirred Mills
Physical Separation: Gravity, Magnetic, Electrostatic, Ore Sorting, Upgrading (physical and chemical)
Plant Design: Complex Ores Integrated Flowsheets
Asset Management: Sampling, Metal Accounting, Surveys and Flowsheet Improvement
New Frontiers: Harsh Environments Including Arctic, Undersea, Space and Beyond
Environment, Recycling and Social Responsibility
Dewatering: Thickening, Filtering, Drying
4th International Symposium on Iron Control in Hydrometallurgy
Electrometallurgy 2016
Rare Earth Elements
Lightweight Metals and Composites: Production, Processing and Applications
IMPC Commissions: Education, Mineral Processing for the Future
Alongside the plenaries, technical program, and networking opportunities in the trade show, IMPC has a number of commissions that examine topics vital to the future of our industry. Their education commission, looking into attracting more young people to mineral processing and related fields, will be delivering its findings during IMPC 2016.
