Horace Edgar Rose
Horace Edgar Rose, professor at the University of London King's College, is an eminent authority on comminution and fine particle technology. Dr. Rose has published four books on powder technology and about 70 papers, mainly on the same subject. At King's College, Dr. Rose has built up a research school in powder technology and instituted a course leading to post-graduate diploma in that field. An inventor as well as an author, educator and research scientist, he is the joint holder, with R. M. E. Sullivan, of four patents for improving vibration mills. These inventions may afford a hundredfold increase in grinding rate. Dr. Rose earned his B.Sc., M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees from the University of London and also has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Manchester. He joined the faculty at King's College in 1944. He is a member of the Institutions of Civil Engineers, of Mechanical Engineers, and of Chemical Engineers.
