Wayne L. Dowdey is Senior Vice President of Envirotech Corporation.

In 1939, Mr. Dowdey joined Republic Steel Corporation and became Superintendent of their Spaulding Alabama iron ore concentrator in 1944. In 1945, he joined the Eimco Corporation (now a Division of Envirotech) as a Sales Engineer, becoming District Sales Manager in 1949. He advanced to General Sales Manager in 1959 and Vice President of Sales in 1961.

He became General Manager of the Eimco Processing Machinery Division in 1967 and President of the Division in 1969, when the Division became a part of Envirotech. In 1971, he became President of Envirotech Process Equipment Group and was named an Executive Vice President in 1972, the positions he now holds.

Born in Albertville, Alabama, Mr. Dowdey worked in the Alabama coal mines as a youth. He attended Samford University, Berry College, Auburn University, and the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.

Mr. Dowdey, an active member of AIME since he joined in 1945, has served on many unit process committees. He served as Chairman of the Mineral Processing Division of SME-AIME, as an SME-AIME Director, and as an AIME Director from 1963-1968. He was an AIME ice President in 1967. Mr. Dowdey is a Past President of the Society of Mining Engineers and a Distinguished Member of SME-AIME. He is a member of the Mining and Metallurgical Society of America.
