Dr. Brad L. Boyce is a Senior Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories whose research focuses on the microstructural origins of material reliability—deformation, fracture, and fatigue. He earned his B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (1996), followed by M.S. (1998) and Ph.D. (2001) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Since joining Sandia in 2001, Dr. Boyce has co-authored over 190 peer-reviewed papers and holds seven U.S. patents, spanning nanostructured alloys, advanced joining methods, and high-throughput test platforms. He is a scientist at the Center for

Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT), a DOE user facility operated jointly by Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories. Dr. Boyce served as 2023 President of TMS—The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society. His contributions have been recognized with the Hertz Foundation Fellowship, Robert W. Cahn Prize, J. Keith Brimacombe Medal, and Marcus A. Grossman Young Author Award.
