The Mining Foundation of the Southwest is seeking nominations for their new Medal of Merit Under 40 by May 31, 2013.  Candidates should be an active geologist, engineer, metallurgist, environmental or reclamation specialist, mining technologist, or consultant in the mining and mineral processing industry.

By honoring the teachers who are hard at work in 6 to 12th grade classrooms (here in the U.S. or abroad), the engineering profession wants to show its appreciation and respect for the educators who are helping students discover engineering.  Unique to this program, engineers and engineering students are part of the nomination process. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to announce that for summer 2013 we will again offer three internship programs: RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering), RISE professional and RISE worldwide. RISE has established itself as an outstanding opportunity to combine serious research with a rewarding study-abroad experience.
