The DiscoverE Educator Awards are shining a spotlight on the educators who are inspiring tomorrow’s innovation generation. By honoring the teachers who are hard at work in 6 to 12th grade classrooms (here in the U.S. or abroad), the engineering profession wants to show its appreciation and respect for the educators who are helping students discover engineering.  Unique to this program, engineers and engineering students are part of the nomination process. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is pleased to announce that for summer 2013 we will again offer three internship programs: RISE (Research Internships in Science and Engineering), RISE professional and RISE worldwide. RISE has established itself as an outstanding opportunity to combine serious research with a rewarding study-abroad experience. All three programs are targeted to students from the fields of engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, earth sciences (geology) and related disciplines.

AIME's sister society, IEEE-USA, is challenging U.S.. college students to create YouTube videos that reinforce for the 11-to-13-year-old "tween" audience "How Engineers Make a World of Difference." The organization is striving to tap the enthusiasm of  U.S. college students to spark younger students' creativity and ingenuity, and to encourage tweeners' interest in learning about engineering. IEEE-USA also seeks to expand broader public understanding of engineering through the dissemination of these videos in its sixth-annual online video scholarship competition.
