AIME Benjamin F. Fairless Scholarships in 2017

Howdy, my name is Harland Ashby, a Mechanical Engineering student at Texas A&M University. I work as a Student Technician at the Engineering Innovation Center on campus as well as a Teaching Assistant for the Kinesiology department, and conference staff councilor for the YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity Texas. Outside of work and school, I'm on the executive council for the coed professional engineering fraternity (Theta Tau), as well as a co-chair for Student Leaders Of Tomorrow (SLOT). I am also a member of the American Association of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Christian Engineering Leaders (CEL), and a Benjamin J. Fairless Scholar for the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME). In my free time, I volunteer at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Bryan Texas as part of their Friday night church program for underserved youth. I have interned as a Mechanical and Design Engineer for HEB and an Engineering Design intern for Daikin North America.
