Dr. Ravishankar (Ravi) is a global Research, Innovation and Development & Business Development leader in the mineral industry with 25 years of experience. He is currently working as a fellow at SOLVAY. By way of background, Ravi has his doctorate from Virginia Tech in Material Science and Engineering and two masters in Metallurgical engineering and chemistry. He has a diverse experience from innovation to front-end commercialization in technologies for clays, phosphate, heavy minerals, gypsum, talc, carbonate and Iron ore. His specific thrust has been on energy efficiency, economic processing and enhancement of physical separation. Ravi has authored over 12 patents, 30 publications and developed experiential training programs. Ravi has served in many positions within SME including past division chair for IMAD in year 2012, past member of Structure and Governance committee 2013-16. He currently serves as a board member of President Hoover medal for engineers who are humanitarians, an editorial board member of Mineral and Metallurgical Processing Journal and also as a program evaluator for Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
