Lenhard J. Holschuh is Secretary General and a Director of the International Iron and Steel Institute (llSI), a non-profit research organization whose members are steel companies. national steel federations and steel research associations in 48 countries. Mr. Holschuh studied law and economics at the Universities of Hamburg and Saarbrucken and was graduated from the latter. He began his professional career in the German steel industry. In 1967, with the establishment of llSI, Mr. Holschuh was appointed Deputy Secretary General. He assumed his current position in 1979 and was elected a member of the Board in 1983.

Mr. Holschuh is a former Vice Chairman of the International Centre for Industry and the Environment and a member of the Commission on Environment of the International Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the European Society of Association Executives and a former member of its Board of Directors. As a recognized authority on the world steel industry, Mr. Holschuh frequently addresses audiences all around the world. He is the author of numerous articles on steel matters.
